(Ok FINALLY a great pic of us! There is hope yet!)
Yes, the first of a series of Christmas Fetes this year was the: WARD CHRISTMAS PARTY.
Set in the romantic mountains past Sundance was the cute little Aspen Grove Lodge. We enjoyed a catered dinner of roast beast, yummy rolls, and see's candy bars compliments of the bishopric. Dinner was followed by a live auction with an ACTUAL auctioneer (is that what he's called). Anyway, he had the quick voice and the wit to carry on (essentially) his monologue all night long.
(Wow, that is ONE good lookin Bro Schofield.)
Don't worry, out of the $800 we raised for charity, Lyle spent $80 on a few different items. Did those items include what I gave to the auction? Nope, but to a few other ladies in the ward (luckily we had a nice cuddle that night or else he would have been toast)! Yes, Lyle bought about 10% of the entire auction. LOL.
It was a funfilled night until the discussion of SUV vs. Van came up on the way back home. Lyle will never own an SUV. Ciara will never own a VAN. Ciara wants approximately 5 kids. Lyle wants somewhere between 3 to 6 kids. Lyle asks Ciara, "Sister Decker, how do you plan on toting around all your children?" Ciara replies with, "Brother Schofield, I plan on driving a 7 passenger station wagon." This conversation goes on for a while with Lyle explaining that he doesn't know of a 7 passenger station wagon, but I'm certain they are out there (volovo, doy). Then, when Lyle asks, "Are you telling me that even though vans are $15,000 cheaper than the average SUV, you will NEVER own a van?" "That is correct," I say. Then he responds with, "Then that makes you a snob." OUCH! That was a low blow, but let's be honest, I know that I am in some ways, just NOT in "car" ways. At that point we have to change cars because we carpooled and I tell him I will meet him at his apartment. I go home, check the internet for the 7 passenger volvo (which of course I find), go to his apartment and show it to him. Yes, he was wrong, and yes, he says he will buy me the XC90, but not the XC70. WTF? The XC70 is the wagon and the XC90 is the SUV. I thought Lyle would never buy an SUV? Well, he explains that the XC70 he would NEVER buy me, but he would drive the XC90. Correction, he then stated he would not drive it if he could help it, but that he would buy it for me. The convo is over from that point because I will not argue that one! Did I still go on though? Yes, of course I did! I told him that I wasn't a snob and he said yes you are, but that's ok, I still like you (all joking around of course, but still being serious). So finally I dropped it, well, was forced to. AT LEAST WE GOT THE CAR SITUATION UNDER CONTROL...that was a close one. Phew!
And on a more serious note, I had my REAL first day back with the best = LEES! It was a beatiful and fun-filled day at Park City. Lisa is really a great coach. As it was my second season as a pass-holder, I knew how to board and carve, but wanted to improve. By the end of the afternoon, I felt more confident and skilled than ever! Thanks Lees, you coach you! If anyone wants a private lesson she is FABULOUS!
Ok, yeah for the rest of the season and great days like this one!
p.s. Lyle and I watched Donnie Darko last night. WTF? It is a must see for everyone because it is sooooo weird. I NEED to watch it again is all I have to say.

Looks like fun. FYI - the Mart manly sells three things, apparel, jewelry and handbags..seriously but what else is there anyways. They don't sell any electronics as far as I know....but it is 13 stories. Also, I bought jewelry and that was all, the apparel is on higher floors that we didn't make it too!
