I am currently in the race for quality which has no finish line - so technically it's more like a death march.
Yes, it's Monday, and these are the thoughts that run through my head. I woke up at 4:45 this morning and it is catching up to me. I am again playing mama for the week while Lupe is basking in the California sun. Ok, so she's working a little too on the side of playing "mimi" to my neice and nephew and "babysitter" to my sister. At least she took Ya-Ya (her favorite child) with her so that I didn't have to worry about taking the yorkie out to pee every 3 hours. Alas, it is just Anthony and myself at the humble abode in Cedar Hills. That means I get to wake up every morning at 6:30 and get to work by 7:30. At least everyone at the City of Cedar Hills think that I am particularly on the ball and an overachiever!
Work isn't terribly horrible right now. I am taking February to plan out the Family Festival (yet again) and the Easter Egg Hunt. I LOVE asking people for money so that is my task at hand. My problem is outdoing myself from last year. Is it possible? The answer is yes, asking for more money in a different way than I did last year along with creating more benefits for doing so. This is the challenge. This week isn't that busy though, but other things to alleviate my mind from my job this week include a trip to the movies, my little brother's bball game on Saturday (he is kind of a big deal at 4 foot 11), and some tivo that I get to catch up on!
Pictured is Lyle at My My Machete's best show yet! Held at Muse Music, it was classic. After playing a "cover" song from Pleasure Island (Lyle's previous band), he stripped off his jeans and hoodie to perform in his skeleton costume from Halloween. He was the only one in costume and surprised a few in the crowd with his "outrageousness", although many of us thought it more comical than anything. He is a keeper (for me, other girls stay away)! Visit www.purevolume.com/mymymachete or www.myspace.com/mymymachete for a taste of their tunes. They are recording at the end of the month! (p.s. the pic is more of a watercolor since it was taken on my camera phone, but i love it all the more!)
