Day two in London was even better than the first! We started it off by hitting up the National Gallery. We ONLY spent 4 or 5 hours in the museum with a little lunch break at Trafalgar Square, but we could have spent three DAYS there and we might have seen all that was there. Seriously...this FREE museum was jam packed with artwork from the 11th century to present day. It was unreal to be in the presence of artwork that shaped this world from all around the globe. It was humbling to feel the energy and the emotion coming from these pieces.
We learned more about history, religion, and beauty.
Pictured is Trafalgar Square. This place gets pretty crowded during the day. Businessmen/women, tourists, and PIGEONS flock this area.
Again, what is my deal with lanterns?

I really liked Trafalgar square. It wasn't some crazy, anxiety filled place. It was more of a cool lunch hang out, enjoy the view, don't spill so the pigeons don't come type of place. Don't worry, I DID spill crumbs like usual from my lunch, so yes the pigeons DID flock. My bad!
This was probably the best shot we had taken the entire trip. It's also pretty cool because we stand out. We try NOT to stand out EVER...as we are not a flashy couple, but more low-key, but today it worked for the pic, right? After National Gallery, we TRIED to fit in some shopping time! We headed to Leicester Square, then on to Piccadilly Square, and finally on to the grand finale of Oxford Circus. If you go to London you MUST go to Oxford Circus if ANYWHERE. Don't worry, we didn't go crazy.
The REAL story is what happened that night. Here we go. We were hungry for dinner and decided we would dine over a "nice" pub we had heard about. We knew the "whereabouts" of where this place (Trinity) was, but we didn't have the exact address. We hopped on the tube, exited to an area we didn't really know very well, then we didn't know what way up the street to walk, so we headed in the direction of a busy street of restaurants. We walked and walked and walked. There were MANY restaurants, but none said Trinity. We decided to walk in the other direction, and finally hopped on a Double Decker bus to get to where we started. Again, we searched and searched, but to no avail, decided to pay $5 US DOLLARS to make a call at a pay phone to look up the number to Trinity. After their VAGUE directions, we ended up at the tiny restaurant WITHOUT a reservation (which was required). Therefore we could wait until 10pm for a table (it was 9pm at the time) or we could walk to ANOTHER restaurant and finally EAT. We chose the latter and ended up at a pub called "The Frog & The Forget-Me-Nots" where he got Chinese and I got Chicken Wings...lol.
Let's just say there was a little tete-a-tete after the hour and a half search for Trinity, but it made for a good story and a lesson learned for our future travels. We got home after midnight, but it did end with a kiss and the magic of London was still there!
