Day 6: Countryside in the UK

Sunday we went to church (don't worry Lyle got carsick on the WAY there...ha). It wasn't funny though. I felt bad for the poor guy. I thought I got carsick, but he was way worse. It wasn't something we could control very well because there are just a lot of windy roads in the small villages/towns of London. Anyway, we watched the afternoon session of April's General Conference because during "real time", it is much too late for the residents of London to watch it live because of the time zone difference. This made me grateful for our ability to be SO close to Church Headquarters and where conference is being held. It was comforting to walk into the church building and it "felt" like any other church building across the world. Same fabrics, same set up, same church callings. I really am grateful for the organization of our church and the way it is run. No other church is like that on this earth.

After church we traveled through the countryside...more Lyle carsickness, so we tried to make it quick and get home. We DID see George Harrison's (of the beatles...maybe you know them) ESTATE. Ok, so we didn't see the actual house because there was so much greenery hiding it, but we drove past the TWO gatehouses and the perimeter of it. After dinner and a little rest we headed back out to look at the Roman Ruins. This was about 45 minutes from Twyford. We walked the wall surrounding this ancient village.

On the top right was a web ith raindrops. It was DISCOVERY CHANNEL cool.

Dad, this one's for you! I loved taking pics of these cows. They were mooing a little. It reminded me of waking up on the farm in Colorado where the cows were quite literally RIGHT outside your open window wanting to be fed or milked.
Kissing gate! You kiss with one person on each side of the gate, kiss, then you get to walk through. This was fun!
The pic above was a FIELD of YELLOW. Full of flowers....so storybook.

Below is a pic of Lyle making his GLADIATOR GROWL in the amphitheatre where YES, they did use to have gladiator entertainment battles among other such things.

We hit up a hotel on the way home with a MARVELOUS garden. We walked and strolled around enjoying the yummy flowers.

We didn't get too many pics of just the two of us on the trip, so we used this day to our advantage.

Thanks Kathi & Kurt for the tours and facts!
