Christmas #3 was our personal Christmas in New York. We really did it Schofield style. We woke up on Monday and jetted to the gym for a family workout. Once we got home it was Belgium waffles and eggs - our family breakfast specialty. Next, were presents! This was our tree this year. The gifts were slowly acquired over the past 6 weeks. Because of the lack of decor this year, I had no desire to buy a tiny thin roll of wrapping paper and ribbon for a whopping $20.

We had both needed clothes since it's gotten colder in New York, but we decided it would count as Christmas so we couldn't wear anything until our "official Christmas #3". It was fun to make it look like we had a HUGE Christmas. Let's be honest though, I really got lucky this Christmas. I heart my macbook pro! Oh and the home depot bag is there because Lyle put up my shelves in the kitchen! It was really stressful putting them up since we have concrete behind our drywall and had NO IDEA, but Lyle managed to pull through.
I also put in there the gifts from my kids at the kids club. I really got lucky there too! Luckily I can share some of my gift cards with Lyle. We will dine in style at a posh restaurant one of my kids dad's owns and we will sip warm hot cocoa and steamers from Starbucks at least until March! 
One of our traditions (that I enforce) is the first gift we open must be a book we buy each other. I was super excited to give Lyle his book this year because it was a Dr. Suess book! He is my favorite!
Lyle and I read it instantly and it was a keeper.We may even buy them in bulk someday for his office!
I was very excited about my ornament from Lyle this year. It's a bloomingdales shopping bag with a mini snowglobe on top. I dropped him a few good hints and he got it!

It was SO freezing while we were out there. We really tried to limit our time outside. The temperatures were in the 20s but the "real feel" was around 10 degrees. 
We didn't do all that we could have for Christmas in New York, but we've got a few more years to do that. This year the tree was a must for me. We'll see what we can fit in after we get back. Hopefully ice skating is in the mix!
