Sacramento Teaser

We flew into Sacramento for a quick weekend with the Family. Friday night we flew in and after we got home and to bed it was 4am NYC time...ouch! After sleeping in, we luckily made it to see Emily's swim meet. This was very nostalgic for me. I loved and hated swim meets each summer. They took up most of your day, you were exhausted, but racing was so fun. Here is Em practicing her streamline before she got up on the block.
She is sure a good sprinter (opposite of me, the distance swimmer), and it was fun to see her race. She has made pool records, and also made regional's Go Em! Can you believe she is only 10?
After the swim meet and lunch we went to a place called RPM to do some racing! This was part of Peter's bday weekend...HAPPY BIRTHDAY PETER! Lyle below is getting ready for the race.
And here is King Luke whom we adored all weekend long. This 9 month old will melt your heart with his smiles. We made these horrible squeaky noises all weekend long to make him smile!
King Lyle as well...in his royal purple.
Pre-race in the orientation.Ok, now it's race time...for real! We put on racing suits, helmets, had a 10 minute orientation with rules and flags, etc. It was honestly a little much.I could BARELY breathe in there...and wearing glasses was a BAD idea.
It was SO HOT in that suit!
First race, the two UTAH drivers won...can you believe it! My bro-in-law Mac won first, with his sister Cami winning second, and Lyle in third. The second race was won with the big guns owned by Lyle Schofield, with the other two behind him. When he has a goal, he achieves it...ha!The rest of us just enjoyed our races. Em was by far the safest driver, but I .... I got put on probation after the first loop of the 2nd race. Oops...I didn't see a flag (because of my lack of peripheral vision in my glasses) and sped too fast. Ok, lesson learned.
Sunday was enjoyed with more Luke time!
Uncle Lyle loves his Luke. How can you not?
And here is the entire reason we came out for the quick weekend trip. Lyle ordained his little 12 year old brother, Peter, with the Aaronic Priesthood for our church. To the left is Grandpa Schofield (B. Lyle Schofield) whom Lyle was named after. We were happy to see Grandpa as well and have him also stand in the circle. We're really proud of Peter.
Now, it wouldn't be a Schofield weekend if the boys (minus Bryan who we missed) didn't all get together and play a game...this time it was RISK. I am SO happy I wasn't forced to play!Well, we were definitely teased by the beautiful weather and fun weekend in Granite Bay. We can't wait to come back in 6 weeks! We are counting down the days (believe me)!
