Freshly sharpened pencils, a mirror & explorer...

School’s in Session not only for Lyle,

(Lyle has SO SO SO many tools. We had to go to Home Depot to buy tool boxes and he even had to order a tackle box online. Between the three lockers he has at school, he STILL brings stuff home everyday. It's fun to see him "organize his locker" though. I felt like a freshman again. LOL.)

but for me as well. The summer was super easy and laid back. Summer camp for three hours with a class or two afterward was much more slow and quiet than during the school year. I knew it was going to get busy again, but with a recent promotion, and the start of Fall term it got monumentally chaotic!

I am now team leader at the kids club which basically means I manage all the other coaches at my location and I take on more responsibility with curriculum and leadership. I am happy I accepted this offer. It is pushing me to use more of my brain power. I train new coaches, interact with the parents, and I lead the preschool type program. This is taking A LOT more time than I expected and I don’t nearly get paid for enough of it. That’s another story for another day. In addition, I am again teaching all the cooking classes, rock climbing classes, a few gymnastics classes, and mommy & me classes. I think the thing that I am learning the most so far is communication—how to communicate well with the students versus their parents, how to communicate what I need from the coaches and how I can teach them to improve—how I can make a great leader. I know it’s going to be an exhausting few months, but I know I’ll learn a lot.
