The longest drive of my life

Day 1 (Friday, July 27): Cedar Hills (1PM) to Vegas (8pm)

The journey begins...blah. Luckily we got to spend a day with Elisa, Rodney, and Macy in Vegas. Thank you for the vacation Elisa & Rodney! We SO needed that before our crazy trip. Let me just say that patience was tested.

Day 2 (Sunday, July 29): Vegas (10AM) to Albuquerque, New Mexico (9PM)
We headed out of Vegas and thought we could make it to Oklahoma in that same day. Hmmm...let's see. We left Vegas later than planned and ended up calling my Aunt Jill and Uncle Jim Decker to stay the night in New Mexico.

Back on the road again
Hello Arizona

More storms brewing here...it was slightly scary. Hello New Mexico

Day 3 (Monday, July 30): Albuquerque, New Mexico (9:30AM) to Lawton, Oklahoma (7PM)

Then we hit the road yet again to fight the storms and boredom on the road. We actually stopped at a gas station for lunch and ate in the food mart area. This is where Lyle learned that everyone is in your business down South. He was on the phone and one of the old folks actually interrupted his conversation to correct what he was saying (lol).

We were in Texas for a VERY long time.

Oklahoma! Apparently beautiful cowgirls drink milk here!

Day 4 (Tuesday, July 31): Lawton, Oklahoma (6AM) to Louisville, Kentucky (9:30PM)

We were up before the cows here (literally). Now we're livin off about 6 hours of sleep from the previous night. We've got a full days drive ahead of us. I survived this day off watching the only two tv shows on my laptop. One episode of the Hills and one episode of Grey's Anatomy. Oh wait, I watched that Hills episode TWICE and Grey's THREE times in a row (LOL).

Let me just say that we only passed through St. Louis, Missouri and stopped in a hick town, but it is HICK there. I am very glad we didn't end up moving there. Kansas City, mind you, is further north and less hick, but still. WEIRD FOLK.

The Mississippi River

The light in the middle of the tunnel. But wait we had to pass through Illinois (didn't get that picture) and Indiana to get to Kentucky. So on we drove and drove and drove (like pioneers really). I would say my favorite part of the drive was the hour before we crossed the bridge (over the ohio river) to Louisville. The last part of Indiana is so so so beautiful with it's rolling hills and a few rocks here and there. LOVED IT!

EUREKA! I have never been so happy to be somewhere I didn't know. More so because I had to pee so bad, but because it made the drive finally worth something!

Ok, this is all I have to give right now. I will update more later with pics of the apt!

lov and miss you all!

BLAH BLAH BLAH.. I HATE LONG CAR RIDES! I am glad you guys are there. I will tell you this, I hate New Mexico. Did you find that it was the most boring state EVER to drive through? That is my least fav thus far in my experience. Anyway You guys are soo cute and I want your hair!

I totally feel for you! I felt that same way when we made the drive to Charlotte, NC this summer. We past through some of the same states...and I must agree the Indiana/KY part of it was the best since it's BEAUTIFUL! But any way, I'm glad your there and I'm SOO happy you FINALLY posted!

Congratulations! You are my hero...I would not be able to do that. Yikes. Glad you made it safely and I miss you already. So sad we weren't able to make one last GNO. I guess the www is going to have to suffice.
