Thank you President Hinckley

I will always remember something I learned about President Hinckley which has been coined as a turning point in his life. While on his mission to England, he wrote home to his father, discouraged about the mission. He father wrote back one line. It said, "Gordon, forget yourself and go to work." I have kept this in my mind to remind me to do the same.

Prophet Gordon B. Hinckley was a major part of our lives. As Lyle and I discussed immediately after we heard the news one week ago..."He was our prophet". He was the prophet during the times of our testimony growth. He was the prophet when we had major life decisions we had to make. He will be the prophet we remember (the most) that we were raised with, that we intently listened to at Conferences and talks during our BYU careers. Though neither of us personally knew President Hinckley he was definitely the only 80/90 year old man that understood us in our youth. We loved and respected him. We looked to him for guidance and with faith. Now we are happy he can be with his eternal family and we look forward to the new leadership of the Church.

I am excited to see what President Monson will do for the Church and for this new generation of members. Thank you President Gordon B. Hinckley for all you have done. You will be missed!
