Toto, I don't think we're in Louisville anymore.

So it is Monday morning and as usual the boring news is showing the boring weather (I get to watch this at least a minimum of 3 hours a day). It says we will be having snow so get ready! Patients start coming in saying, "Are you getting ready for the storm?" I say, "Oh, it won't be anything to worry about." To which they reply, "Well they say we're getting 2-4 inches, so you better be careful out there and stock up on milk and bread at the grocery!" Well, I say, "we'll see" with sarcasm and skepticism of course. The weathermen are saying it will come at 7pm, then a few hours they say, no it will be here at 5pm. THEN they say, "for sure it will be here by 4pm". So I decide I am going to get gas on my lunch break (which is at the grocery down the road) since I have to stop in at the grocery anyway. First of all, gas JUMPED UP 27 cents in the past 4 hours (I was royally ticked), the parking lot was jam packed, AND the inside of the grocery was a mad house! I hurried and got my stuff and got out of there ASAP! Then I worked for a few hours and started for home at 4pm. Funny enough, it started flurrying right as I got to the car. This made me laugh. Then as I was driving on the freeway home people were ALREADY going slower and freaking out on the roads! These are FLURRIES PEOPLE! HELLO! No need to sound the alarm! Then the flurries turn into big flakes as I pull into the residential neighborhoods and I enjoy the beauty of big flakes. I get into the apartment, start my recipe (chicken alabam...thanks ashley baker - it was delish!) and when I called my dear friend, Ashley, she asked me if I was enjoying this Utah weather. I open the blinds and I cannot believe what I am seeing. Within the one hour I was home it had put a blanket over the roads and actually stuck! This almost NEVER happens here and it was a site to be seen.

Poor Lyle was downtown to teach a Kaplan class and it got canceled so he had to sit in traffic for TWO hours to get home. I am telling you, people in Louisville are moronic on the roads and especially in the snow.

Tuesday morning comes and I get up to get ready for work. A lady from my work calls me and tells me to go back to bed, that she will call me about an hour before I need to come in. Hallelujah! So I get two more hours of sleep in and get to go into work late. I did have an interesting time getting the first top layer of ICE off my car followed by a few inches of snow. There was ice EVERYWHERE off my car. This was something I wasn't very used to since Utah has drier snow. Anyway, it was quite the experience. The snow stayed for at least 5 days and has been the talk of the town. "what a STORM that was"
