Well we've gone "BPA free". We have for a few weeks now, but I'm finally getting to it. I am realizing that some people don't know about the harmful affects of BPA (
Bisphenol A), and I wanted to help educate. Bisphenol A has become controversial because it mimics estrogen and thus could induce hormonal responses. Supposedly it was tested decades ago in plastics, cans, etc. but was confirmed not harmful. Now, they are changing their mind and saying especially when exposed to heat (cleaning, dishwasher, hot drinks/foods) that more than a minimum amount can be harmful. Because we are consuming more foods/drinks in plastics/cans we are reaching far beyond the minimum per day--especially infants supposedly. Research the subject if you want more. I have yet to find an article that I think is very exciting to read about, so I will let you google it to death depending on how bad you want to know about it. I DO know it was pretty difficult to look for a BPA free water bottle three weeks ago, but maybe more are on the market now. You can update me with that one. What I do know is that the bottles with BPA are going on sale to get rid of them.

Here is the key detail to remember. Do NOT buy a water bottle that has a 7 or a 3 on the bottom. All others, glass, and stainless steel are fine. ESPECIALLY do NOT heat the bottle or put hot liquids in your bottles! This increases the rate of release of BPA. Good luck and happy hunting!

I just had a blast reading your blog. I haven't read for awhile and loved your tag. I think your hubby and my hubby should get together and be old men. Your bum leg looks like it sucks but on a positive note...you look gorgeous! How was the London trip?
Hey just FYI--Walmart doesn't carry BPA things. I know for SURE they don't carry baby bottles with BPA, but I think they don't carry any plastic (like Nalgene type bottles) with BPA...not for sure though. I think half of my kitchen has BPA! I need to work on that!
I've found that most companies don't label their products as BPA free. As I researched baby products that were considered safe, I came across this great website. Here is the link....http://zrecs.blogspot.com/2007/11/z-report-bisphenol-in-baby-bottles-and.html
