Born on the 4th of July!

A new love was manifest (born if you will) this past 4th of July. Rock band. I know I don't REALLY need to explain, but I will if you are new to the blog. Lyle, my dear husband, KIND OF likes music. We own Guitar Hero which he rocks. It was a gift from HIM to ME for our very first Valentine's together. I LOVED the gift and he was lucky to have me. Since Rock Band came out we purchased EIGHT of them and attempted to sell them on Ebay. The deal was he could keep one if we made enough money on our investment to pay for one. Our luck was not so good. Hence we returned the last 3 to the store we purchased them from. He has tried to forget about this since then.
My co-worker, however, let me borrow his PS2 version (compatible with our PS2) while he was out of town for 10 days. I surprised Lyle with this on our way up to Cincinatti to visit the my Aunt and Uncle for the holiday weekend. He went BALISTIC! Needless to say, he set it up immediately when we got there and a new rock band was formed. This band included my uncle jeff, Lyle, and my cousin Scott with his buddy. Rock band consumed him for the rest of the evening. He is convinced this machine will help him practice for his real set of drums that he will receive after dental school when we buy a home someday. I enjoyed it the next day with him while the boys were out doing stuff. THEN, as fate would have it, we forgot the POWER CORD at the Deckers. It is in the mail so hopefully we get it soon so Lyle can enjoy Rock Band over the weekend. FYI: Guitar hero 4 is coming out with a drum kit as well. It's pretty sweet because the drums are set up more like a real set. MTV now is in charge of guitar hero so they are making it as "punk rock" as can be. The drum kit is WIRELESS and it is velocity sensitive so the note will be as loud as you play it. It is due out this fall and all I have to say is once it comes out on the Wii we are REALLY going to be wanting to buy the Wii, Guitar hero 4, AND THE Wii fit (see below).
I tend to lick my lips when I am concentrating on stuff I guess (awkward).
Lyle, yet again, playing his chess on his phone. This time, it was while we were waiting for the fireworks to start.

Yeah for the fireworks! This was our first time watching them together on the 4th because last year he was on a "school business" trip to check out a dental school (yes, we had been home from our honeymoon for 3 days).
Ok, the next day we focused mainly on Wii fit which my Aunt Karma told us we had to try. I was already stoked because I had seen promos for it. I LOVED IT! It makes you concentrate on your body a lot more than just running or even than weight training alone. It maybe would make you feel silly doing it in front of other people, but Lyle and I don't have that problem (our bad). I can't wait to get it (hopefully Christmas)?!

On our way back from Ohio, we stopped by at the hospital for a treat! We helped welcome Reagan into the world! This is Lyle's BFF, Jerrel Mills, and wife Heather's first baby! Remember when we were next door neighbors to them? Well they are ultra conservative and they LOVE America and they were excited to have a little Reagan born on the 4th of July since she was due the 7th. You go Reagan! You came into this world screaming Republican! LOL...seriously though, we love these guys and will miss them.

We promise you Jerrel, she looks like you (no matter what they say).

Yeah for newborn baby girls!

It's not ours! Lyle wanted to clear that up. Heather you are a sport.

It looks like you guys had a fun holiday. I totally want the Wii fit also! It looks so fun and if you can get some workout benefits with it, then that is a double bonus!

My dad says when I play the drums, I have the funniest facial expression he's ever seen. I guess it takes some serious concentration. I'm glad we both do it. :)
