Playing the tourists

We went to the Manhattan Temple on Saturday and it was such a great experience. I have been to a few different locations across the US and even one out of the country and this one has to be the most beautiful one inside (in my opinion) so far. Am I allowed to think that? Anyway, it was in the midst of Columbus Circle and Lincoln Center!

Classic New York

Here is a view of Columbus Circle from inside the shopping center. I loved this area! It was VERY touristy, VERY alive, and VERY full of fun stores.
We went there specifically to go to Whole Foods for lunch after the Temple. I CANNOT wait to go back and get another lunch there. We picked up fresh rasberries and then picked up two different sandwiches. There is sushi (ready made and made to order), indian buffet, salad bar, a deli, and so so so much more!
A dear friend came into town and had only one meal (sorta) to share with us on her DAY lay over from over the pond. I took the touristy route and recommended Serendipity 3's because I had wanted to go when we were here in march (but remember I was DYING of food poisoning from BROOKLYN). So when Aubrey didn't know where she wanted to go and I didn't know where we SHOULD go, so we thought, let's get dessert!

We were ONLY going to get one and split it, but there was a minimum order per person so we shared each others. I can still taste that frozen hot chocolate in my mouth. It was VERY rich (since it was frozen hot chocolate, not frozen hot cocoa...please note earlier post in December for the explanation of the difference).

I love the NYC temple because it fits into New York, but with the Angel Moroni it is distinct. I love Serendipity! They have such amazing desserts!

oh my goodness are those not the best desserts, don't every look up how many calories are in that, I did that once and have always regretted it, it's not like you go there for a "low cal" dessert! Glad you guys are exploring all over the city!

oldie but goodie
