Happy Birthday dear Lyle!

Not a picture was taken on the Lyle's bird-day because it was mostly just another day. Lyle doesn't think of his birthday as any different day of the year. This is where we differ. Birthdays are supposed to be a big deal, a day for only you, a day of celebration for your life. This year, Lyle's birthday was his first REAL day of school. All the days leading up to it were more of an orientation and workshops, but Wednesday, September 3, 2008 was d-day: Dentist in training day. This was also Marv & Lorna's last day with us so I woke up and made Lyle his favorite breakfast - BELGIUM WAFFLES. Then he rushed off to class and met us for pizza on his lunch break. Don't worry, he only had an hour and we ended up walking 1/2 of that LOOKING for the place that he "knew" where it was. He ate and ran back to school. I can't even remember what I cooked him for dinner, but I did go across town to the supposed "best cupcakes in the City". I don't know if they were the best, but I sure enjoyed my pistachio cupcake...mmm! When all was said and done, we ended Lyle's first day of school by watching an episode of the Office (my gift to him) Season 4. It was the start to 4 grueling years and the beginning of Lyle's 28th year. He thinks 27 is old, but I assured him there is plenty more of that to come (with grey hairs and all).

Words can't describe what I feel for Lyle. Those of you that know him know EXACTLY what I mean. The man cannot be duplicated, he is the one and only Lyle Schofield. He was the only one to capture my attention and win my heart. He is intense in one moment, goofy in the next. He will dance and sing to put you in a better mood whether you like it or not. His passion, his ambition, his loyalty, and his kindness will amaze you. I am a lucky woman and someday I hope to have a little boy that looks JUST like Lyle and a little girl that can DANCE like him (ha). I love you beau. Bon anniversaire!
