Updates on the pad

Project Kitchen:

I had previously planned to paint the bedroom green to compliment our blue in the family room (think us open blue and green tennis courts). I was trying to plan the color of paint for each room and we had decided we would paint the kitchen another color and leave the bathroom as is. After everything (closet included) was put in the bedroom, I decided NOTHING was coming out. I was NOT painting that room after only being able to see about 10 square feet on the walls. Therefore, the paint color got moved to the kitchen. Lyle didn't want me stressing out so he said he would be happy with our kitchen the way it is. I, however, would NOT.

Yesterday was a GREAT day to get down to business because I was aching to move the fridge and clean the floors. Well, we had quite the unpredictable day. Everything went well with the morning. Lyle woke up early and studied at the library while I slept in just a tad later (lol) and started on the kitchen. I got my first layer done by lunch when he came home. Our kitchen was a little unorganized to fix lunch so we went downstairs next door to the Lucky Chicken. It was actually quite good. The food there is not from one country. I don't like all the variation. It's the New York way, though. There are many places in New York just like it, but it doesn't feel right to me. Anyway you can get mexican, greek, american, indian, etc. After lunch Lyle and I went back to the apartment (or we tried). No one brought the keys! Lyle ALWAYS brings the keys and I am ALWAYS asking him if he has the keys. So that day, I thought about asking him, but I decided to let it be. Needless to say I was cold and we were in the rain without a way to get in. The super wouldn't be there for a good hour, so off we went to Home Depot with (wouldn't you have guessed) a tete-a-tete along the way. My bad for being irritable I guess. We picked up an exhaust fan for over our oven/stove (of course our place didn't come with one) so that our smoke alarm would stop going off EVERY time we cook! Lyle even learned how to wire it and put it in a plug and all that jazz! Go Lyle! After that was settled we came back and (still in the rain) luckily there was a key for us to get in. So, Lyle went downstairs to the barbershop and got a haircut (yes, he actually gets an "old school" cut from them...they don't even use clippers, just scissors), and I started on the 2nd layer.
I am pretty happy with the color and the new way I arranged the kitchen. We hope to get IKEA shelving in there with possibly 2 folding tables on the wall so I can use them as counter space (because as you can see I am desperate for counter space). So I am done with the majority of the job. I just need to paint the other side and buy buy buy (which means, we'll wait til next month...or the next). Oh, and Lyle still needs to install the exhaust fan!

And all this talk about your "super"....I do like the color VERY much. Not too strong but not to light. VERY soothing...nice little mrs. c designer!

Love the color! Similar to the color in one of my bedrooms and I love it there (the baby room). Wow- you do have A LOT of counter space (NOT). :) Can't wait to come and eat a snickers cupcake.

This is the best color ever, I have it in my living room and I get sooo many compliments on it. Great choice and great taste! What brand did you use?? Just curious, that would be funny if we really did chose the same color.

oldie but goodie
