Tebaya

I have been slacking on our food reviews.

Tebaya is where we ladies went for our restaurant enrichment night a few weeks ago, and where I decided to get Lyle to this week for our date night (yeah, we had a real date night...at night and everything). We walked the 20 minutes to Chelsea in the cool night air. It was wonderful. I had been walking all afternoon long, but after a 30 minute rest on the couch I was ready for more!

Back to the food--Tebaya is a Japanese Chicken Wing restaurant.

And it is TO DIE FOR. Seriously. I ordered the wings again because they are the staple at this literal hole in the wall dive, and Lyle ordered a combo meal with teriyaki chicken. Needless to say he liked my meal better than his. HE was even stuffed afterward (which means he got enough rice...rice is his true love). You can get 8 wings, a bowl of rice, and a drink for $8 (at DINNER)! The price is radical, but true. It would have been even more perfect if they delivered to our place, but alas we are a mere ONE avenue short of their delivery boundaries. I guess we'll have to walk the 20 minutes for the perfect Japanese Chicken Wings...and trust me, we will.

We had originally walked over there to dine at the Dominican Bistro located next door to Tebaya. Tebaya was the 2nd choice if the wait was too long at the Bistro, but unfortunately the Bistro was shut down. There is talk it is shut down for good, but no one really knows the true story. Lyle was devasted. After browsing the menu and seeing the place he was truly torn to pieces. Oh well. We will try to research the situation and find another Dominican place for Lyle to reminisce his mission days.

Stay Tuned for next month's restaurant. I can't wait for another goody!

Yum. I am so jealous of your New York location and all the awesome restaurants you have on your island. I miss you C. Miss you and love you. You too Lyle.

Kind of unfair. I mean, you know how much I love food, and to top it off I have aversions to TONS of things right now! So really, NY would be the perfect place for me since I have so many different kinds of food at my fingertips!! I'm going to have to visit. SOON.

oldie but goodie
