With the holiday season upon us (or with us now in the thick of it), I can't help but bake whenever I can. My mom would always ask me where I got this "itch" from because SURELY it's not from her side of the family. She would say I got it from the Deckers (although I didn't grow up around them on the farm so that isn't realistic). I like to think that it is my "own".
ANYWAY, here are my latest. I hope it's just a start for the season. I am getting WAY more busy than I was before, so it's becoming more difficult.
First up was about a month ago: we LOVE our fondue, but I hadn't made anything besides chocolate ever. So here was our home made melting pot (since we may not make it there this Christmas). Without the alcohol in the recipe, the cheese curdled which kind of ruined it, so I will definitely get some from the wine and spirits store downstairs. ;)

Next up was my yummy pumpkin roll. Lyle won't eat it because it has a cream cheese filling (and he doesn't eat anything with a creamy substance), SO that meant I brought some to work and enjoyed a couple slices myself. I wasn't going to bake my yummy favorites JUST for Lyle thank you very much (said with love). Thanks Vanessa for the recipe!

Today, I used my leftover pumpkin for the pumpkin cookies below. Lyle made up for his lack of support to the above with the cookies below. He kept popping them with his milk DURING dinner. HA...I must admit, they are very good. I left the chocolate chips out, but they were still very good.

You are making me very hungry with those delicious pictures, I wish I had a passion for cooking like you. I am trying but I don't have the passion!
I love love love fondue too. Markus' mom is from Switzerland where that is practically all they eat. We had one last night with them. I will have to ask her about the cheese curdling. You might could just use a stock or something just to thin it out a bit. Everything looks yummy!
OK we totally considered using apple juice when making our cheese fondue and opted out and went straight for the beer... SOOOO GOOD!! I say never skimp out and the alci totally cooks out... thats what they say! :)
Ben and I are so dissapointed Lyle wouldn't eat the pumpkin roll. Those are freakin good!
