I feel a COLD one coming on...

1. I have a cold. I fought it for a few days, but then succombed. I haven't been to the gym in 6 days which makes it even worse because my body can feel it. Working with little 1-3 year old's does NOT help this situation. I purel my hands all day long, but still many in the company are sick! I now feel it diminishing here and there (of course it's AFTER I break down and purchase the $20 box of Mucinex).

2. The cocoamotion is officially open for the season. We enjoyed a steamy cup of stephens mint mixed with ghiradelli's double chocolate topped off with marshmallows of course. We have seen a lot of the gourmet marshmallows at Whole Foods and at the market, so I am excited to use these up so we can buy those!3. I am FREEZING. It has hit below 50 as the high and it is FREEZING in the City. I look at accuweather each morning and it gives me the "actual" temperature along with the "feels like" temperature. Well this morning the "feels like" temperature was at 30F! Try walking in the shadows of the tall buildings and the wind blowing in your face (along with smoke from everyone's cigs) on your way to work. So not fun. Oh well. I have plenty of warm jackets and uggs to keep me warm. INSIDE the apartment on the other hand, is where I freeze the most. We turned off the radiator in our apartment so even though the City has turned on the steam to go through the building, we are not feeling it (and not getting charged I guess). We also have a MAJOR draft going through all three of our windows. We are going to take care of the two in the family room, but the kitchen we are going to let alone. If you have any tips of how to fix this let me know! For now, we will venture down to Home Depot and see what they have to say about the problem. In the meantime I keep warm with my slippers and hoodies, but after we get that first utility bill and see almost no change, I am SO taking over and compromising is out the window!

Halloween at the Kids Club has been SO fun this week. Check back for more details and Costume pics!

This always works for me - if I catch it in time, I can totally avoid a cold, if I'm a little too late, it makes it go away faster (I just used it this week to avoid a cold):

Echinacea Complete Care herbal tea by Celestial Seasonings... I call it "magic" tea, because it *really* works.

good luck!

You are quite the chef you little homemaker. Your food looks good and the hot chocolate sounds nice right now because it is a cold rainy night in Seattle. I hope your cold goes away soon. It's never fun to be sick.

oldie but goodie
