(the band) Brand New really hit the nail on the head with that one. We had a glimpse of summer (in fact we had record heat a few weekends ago with 92 degrees F) and now we're back to spring. I tried to soak up as much of the sun as I could, but my blasted allergies really got in my way. Luckily, I fought through it, and even managed to get a little red tan line one afternoon (yeah). I'm not complaining, the weather, although overcast and rainy, has been MUCH warmer, and I don't see us getting any more snow or hitting the 30's until Fall.Lyle and I also caught a glimpse of what our apartment is going to be this summer (as hot as Haities). We were going to install new windows to keep the heat out and help keep us warmer in the winter, but blasted NYU isn't helping our budget and we may have to buy a fan & space heater instead. I have also been having bad dreams about bugs and critters getting in our apartment, so Lyle will see if he can seal up all our cracks and crevices. We'll see.
We've been pretty busy as of late. Many friends are leaving and it's sad because we haven't been too social this year and we are just starting to actually enjoy going out and building relationships with others. We'll have to do a better job of that this year. Lyle is in "FINALS MODE" and I am keep relatively busy with new babysitting opportunities from work. I have watched kids for the past 3 weekends (crazy) and will do so (for fun) next weekend. I am earning decent money to add to my "personal" budget, I am staying out of Lyle's way so he can focus, AND I get to see amazing apartments. Seriously, they are stellar. Some are modern and some are cozy. Some are ginormous and well, anything IS compared to our place, but they also have pretty cool views of the City. I complain and complain about cold weather, about being sick, about it being tough to be in the City sometimes, but if I lived in a nice apartment with windows galore, I would zip my mouth shut and enjoy the view. Maybe someday we WILL live in the City and have that view I have been dreaming of.
Until then, I will dream of what our life will be in 3 weeks. In 3 weeks, Lyle will be done with finals. In 3 weeks, I will be done with work (for a week). In 3 weeks we will BOTH be in Dallas to see the grand arrival of Baby Girl Nielson #2, and to spoil and play with Baby Girl Nielson #1! In 3 weeks, it will literally be summer(time), and I cannot wait. I can't wait to have evenings with Lyle to walk around the City, and to play all night long. June will come and go in a flash, so I'm going to hold on tight!

I think you should take some pictures of those "stellar" apartments...I'd LOVE to see them! Is that legal? Even if it isn't...who cares! Do it for me!
I think you have such a right to complain-- living in the city must be a huge adjustment. I'm amazed that you're staying sane. I'd probably crumble. I'm glad you're getting a break. If you have time you and Lyle should get on skype with us!
