Happy Unbirthday to me!

The last week of Lyle's break, he only ended up working 1 day out of the 5. He didn't know this ahead of time, so he made sure to get all his important stuff done first. Monday of his last week he ended up going with me to IKEA after I got home early from work (woohoo!). He was even patient with me toward the end (where I get really picky--that's what textiles do to me, I can never decide). Monday night we got home and crashed from exhaustion.

Tuesday we woke up and Lyle headed to a doctor's appointment while I went to work. He was supposed to work the rest of the day too, but his professor canceled it last minute. So Lyle decided to enjoy a little bit of the City for himself. He was already uptown a bit and decided to walk to do some window shopping. On the way, he saw the TODAY SHOW filming and hung out there for a bit to enjoy the crowds (which is weird because Lyle does NOT like crowds). Let's just say that he found out he has a new crush - Natalie Morales! He said she and Al Roker were very nice and was surprised by that. Next thing I know he's looking her up on Wikipedia! Whatever...just add her to the list of Eva Longoria and Zooey Deschanel.
ANYWAY, after his five minutes there, he saw Magnolia Bakery and thought of me (and his love for cupcakes), so even though it was 9:30am, he went right in and ordered two to go.
Next stop was a designer shop, that will remain nameless. Why? Well, I have been talking about a coat from there that I have been obsessed with and he wanted to see if my obsession was worth it...he agreed (thank goodness). So after talking to the saleslady for 20 minutes about my "dream coat" he agreed that once a good sale (as in 50% off) comes around, I am allowed to make the purchase!
Finally he decides to head home, but not without stopping by to visit me at work. Now please keep in mind that he has NEVER done this. He has NEVER mentioned or even thought of doing this EVER and completely surprised me. I was so shocked and even though he didn't think it was a big deal, it was a HUGE deal to me. It is one of the most thoughtful things he has EVER done for me (especially because he brought me a cupcake too).
No you would think my lucky string of events was over at this point. Nope, Lyle surprised me once again when I got home. He had put up all the IKEA stuff we had purchased the night before! He put up more drapes (as a backdrop for the bed), a hallway light, and more. I was shocked and so relieved that I didn't have to do it (ha). At that point, I asked him if it was my "unbirthday" because it sure felt like it! It was a very happy unbirthday to me!
