While we were in California, we decided to take a little overnight trip to enjoy the beach. Lyle introduced Santa Cruz to me and I LOVED it.
He chose the BEST most LUXURIOUS
hotel with a great DEAL!
We enjoyed the WARM sun and COLD water on the most PERFECT day.
The view to my front...

The view to my right...

The view to my back...

The view to my left...

We walked the
boardwalk where we ate salt water taffy, 75 cent cotton candy, and rode the
GIANT dipper (Lyle's childhood thrill). It was such a classic evening. We topped it off with (you guessed it) MORE arcade games, topped off with eating pizza from
pizza my heart on the balcony with a view of the moonlit beach. I was in heaven.
Our view that afternoon...

The next morning...

After a wonderful sleep we woke up to enjoy breakfast at
Zachary's followed by a trip to the
surf museum.

Apparently the first surfer on the mainland came to Santa Cruz to surf (from Hawaii) so there is a LONG history here.

A mere 3 hour drive back to Granite Bay and we were back home. Santa Cruz isn't luxury in and of itself, but with it's perfect weather and low key beach, we will DEFINITELY be back for more next summer...and we can't wait!
Oh and on the way home we saw this...

where someone had run over a fire hydrant right before our arrival. It was CRAZY!
