a cheesy smile to start
The Joffrey Ballet School of New York City was a perfect experience. There were hundreds of little kids under the age of 10 EVERYWHERE and much excitement and anticipation in the air. With all its ruckus before the show started, it came to a quiet halt once the lights were turned down. The children with adults alike watched in amazement and wonder.
To this day, I get a little emotional at certain parts of the nutcracker, not only because I'm a baby woman, but because I remember it so vividly as a child--performing in the nutcracker as various characters and watching it on stage. The nutcracker will always be a Schofield tradition because it was always a Decker tradition. I can't wait to take our little girls and boys to see the Nutcracker someday, to read it to them at bedtime, and to watch them perform in it if I'm lucky enough!
