My bday started out with a gift from the wine store (how did they know my fav kind?!)
Then I picked up Kiks and Hals from JFK (Halle's 1st subway ride!)
After she woke up from her nap, she found Lyle coming home from school. This made her day!
Lyle had to hit the books, but we needed some grub so we hit up an oldie but a goodie, Max Brenner's Chocolate by the Bald Man!
This girl was so so happy, but so so tired. When we got home, I jokingly plopped her on the couch as shown. She didn't move for a solid 20 seconds! Maybe you had to be there, but for her, it was hilarious.
The next morning a cold front had come in. Halle forgot her jacket, so we borrowed a snow suit from a friend. Halle did NOT like it. I swear I heard her say "I can't put my arms down!"
Once bundled up, we were ready to go. Time Square was our first stop. We hopped on a bus tour.
Here we see down near our area of town - flatiron.
Playing games, trying to distract from the cold on the bus!
I put my hat on her to help keep her warm!
Getting toasty warm in Little Italy at Grotta Azzurra. It was my first time eating in Little Italy!
We hopped off the tour bus near the apartment, and after a quick nap, took Halle to the Kids Club for a fun open play. She LOVED it. At first all of the children (most much older) and entertainment was a little much, but she settled in quite quickly and was making friends with children and adults everywhere. She's quite the flirt.
Although I heard many "coach C's" throughout the afternoon, I tried my best to remain Hal's personal coach. We tried the balance beam, the tunnels, did forward rolls, bounced on the trampoline, and hung on the bars. In my professional opinion, Halle is a strong girl with a great grip and little fear. Not once did she hold back. Sounds like she got some of her mama's blood there!
Man am I going to have to baby proof this apartment someday. The tub was way too slippery for this girl. Luckily I had a tuperware handy for her to use as a mini tub. In that, she still had to be careful not to slip. Oops! You'd never know that anything was different for her. She loved every minute!
After the kids club, we were all wiped, so take out it was from yummy Vamos across the street. Halle enjoyed some quality lap time with Lyle before she went to sleep.
Up next, the second half of the trip.
