Winter Projects

Spring is springing and Winter is almost entirely gone (thank goodness). This year's winter in New York was much more mild than last year which is weird because I think we hit record snowfalls and lows. Maybe we acclimated. Maybe we had better protection from the weather (new windows, more comfortable apartment, a space heater, warmer jackets, better boots, and a MUCH better hat). Who cares?! It's over and that's all that's important.

To celebrate?
Lyle cut his 6 week beard. He decided to shave it once the weather hit 80 degrees
(and it did - can you believe it)?!

After Shot - takes off 5 years don't you think?
This guy looks like the 25 year old I married!

Another project took only a day or two. I've been agonizing over what kind of art I wanted. Here's what I got. I'm pretty satisfied. It's not perfect, but it's cute for now.

The left is from here and I had to have it because it's a map of our neck of the woods on the Island--everything south of central park. To the right we have on top - London, middle - the White House, and bottom - New York skyline. The frames are from here (50% off at the time) and spray painted white. Each of the cutouts were greeting cards I had purchased on trips we took. The only thing I actually purchased besides the frames was the poster, so it wasn't a costly arrangement.

I really like the map.

It's kinda weird seeing Lyle without a beard- I'd gotten used to it. Makes me think of the story when my dad shaved off his mustache and Lyle was freaked, saying "stranger, stranger".

Ciara, I think it's time to catch up. Call me sometime when your schedule allows. I have a feeling I might be more available than you.
