Christmas Day is here!?

Christmas Day is here. This day is always a bittersweet day to me because it's the excitement and fun of Christmas, but as the day comes to an end, it is the END of the best season of the year. Luckily the segue from Christmas to New Years is still festive which allows me to get used to the holiday being over.

The tree before Christmas Day.

My beautiful Nativity Set that Lyle got me! I LOVE it! Hopefully it lasts me at least 50 years b/c I'm not into having multiple ones (too much to keep track of as it is).
Lyle opening his Christmas Eve Book (golf...who would have known).

My uncle Jeff's brand new Harley. Lyle was really getting into sitting on it (especially since he doesn't get into riding them).

Christmas Day pics! My big gift--a printer! FINALLY!
New Vans: THANK YOU!
Wait for it...

Talk about a good lookin coat!
This is part of an inside joke. Basically I love ALL things Christmas.

Christmas 2007 was our first Christmas together and even though we were around little family and friends, it will be one I remember for the rest of my life. Christmas Eve was spent working half the day, at the gym, and then driving up to Cincinnati to visit my aunt, uncle, and cousins. This was about a two hour drive so we got up there just before it got dark. After introductions, Lyle was thrown in with the boys (they have 5 of them) and between talking guitars, sports, guns, and Harley's, Lyle fit right in. My aunt prepared a WONDERFUL meal full of homemade fixins, a deep fried turkey, and the classic staple--honeybaked ham. The rest of the night was spent playing the white elephant game, wrapping presents, playing guitar hero, and watching the football game. Lyle and I were the scrooges and wanted to get to bed early...we're old what can we say? Christmas morning came and we got woken up by the boys and uncle Jeff yelling, "It's Christmas! Wake up!" The morning came and went with presents, Dutch pancakes (a Decker Christmas tradition), and yes of course--the OPRAH APPROVED Josh Groban Christmas CD blaring throughout the house. We headed back to Lou-uh-ville later that morning and got home excited to have our very own SCHOFIELD FAMILY Christmas. I was a blessed and happy girl! Lyle and Santa were VERY good to me. THANK YOU! Lyle seemed pretty happy too. Some of his leftover happiness was apparent the day after Christmas when we went out to get his (late) Christmas presents on SALE! I am SO SO SO glad I didn't purchase them before. That would have NOT been a bargain. After the phone calls, presents, and clean up we enjoyed the classic It's A Wonderful Life and had Turkey Burgers and our Christmas Dinner (LOL)!

Our candlesticks and Fiddler on the Roof DVD from the Schofields. (Fiddler on the Roof was our first date.) SO thoughtful! We LOVE them!

You guys look so cute on your first Christmas together! How fun. So, my parents bought Guitar Hero for their house so that all the kids could play, and it is the FUNEST game ever--except after a little while the wrists start killing! We should play together.
