I guess we'll have to let Lyle slip by with his white coat since he'll be wearing it for the next 4 years year round, right? You guessed it, Lyle got white coated on this special day and guess who got to see it? NOBODY. NYUCD believes that it is a ceremony where the students are leaving their old world and entering their new one (dental school apparently is a world) and they are not encouraged to associate with anyone of the previous world. This is why no one is invited. Period. That and the fact that there are over 200 students so seating in New York for even two people per student would be hard to come by.

fashion myth: no wearing white after labor day
Actually, wearing white after Labor Day is quite controversial, but in recent years it has become more accepted all around the world.

I had Lyle humor me and we had our own little ceremony at home (the ceremony being Lyle putting his coat on and that was it). Here he is! White coated. Please note the purple tie (NYU colors...go bobcats).
At this point in time I am very embarrassed of our untidy, unorganized, uncool apartment so this accidental background will have to make do for now.
