Upper West Side

Each year we celebrate our anniversary (all two of them so far) by performing sealings in the temple for our church. I like us to be reminded of how perfect that day was (since they definitely haven’t all be perfect SINCE then, ha). After our tradition, we ventured over to the Natural History Museum (one of our favs) and explored the Asian Wing. After some good learning there, we made our way to find some food. We found this great little Indian place (oh how we miss Bombay House from Ptown) called Hampton Chutney. With high ratings it wasn’t very busy, but this time it didn’t represent the quality of food. Within minutes our order was served in this café style place, and it was served with STYLE that’s for sure. I don’t know how authentic it was to be served this way, but it was creative to say the least. We both enjoyed our meal, but again needed some dessert. We left Hampton Chutney and walked a block down to Zabars – a high end grocery. I had never actually walked in, but people have raved about it. So off we went to explore the CROWED and LOUD grocery. For a Saturday night, it was CRAZY (where were we – Utah). After scouring the shelves of all the goodies and imported items, Lyle decided on a Crumbs vanilla cupcake, and I picked out a berry tart. We paid and sat next door in the adjoining café and enjoyed our treats. Here is where Lyle announced that he thought it was a tight race between the Crumbs cupcake and Sabrina’s Cupcake (I will let you know what his final verdict is). On the way home we picked up a few bagels at a highly rated bagel shop called H&H Bagel Co. (for breakfast of course – we were stuffed at that point), and headed home. It was a fun-filled and jam packed afternoon. It was a great part 1 of our Anniversary Celebration!
