The most dramatic, influential, and pivotal year of our lives.
so that you may understand - Lyle's upcoming schedule...
January - May: attends and studies for the infamous toughest semester of school
February 27 - March 6: spring break (not to worry, he will study for his board exams THE ENTIRE TIME)
June - August: attend summer classes (clinic preparation, but will mostly be studying for the board exams)
{please note he only has two 3-day weekends from spring break to the end of summer}
August 21 - September 6: summer break...where he will study for 14 hours a day for 13 days, then take his board exams. these scores will determine the rest of our future (the if's, the when's, the how's of it all)
{please note that after his rigorous labors of studying for and taking the boards, he gets the weekend to rest up before he starts his 3rd year of dental school}
September - December: attends 3rd year of dental school (also known as the busiest). he will regularly see patients in the clinic AND still take a few lecture classes. if I never thought I used to see him, I was utterly mistaken.
December holiday break: we both get to take a break and enjoy a breath of fresh air (not in New York)
My schedule January to December will most likely be spent working 40 hours a week at my job, then 10 hours a week babysitting, with a few friends/fam visiting here and there, and even a trip or two out of New York. Hey, I'm not complaining (yet).
The year 2010 will be best compared to our apartment updates: it will be the most grueling, laborious, and painful years of our life, but it will also be the one of the most remembered. I can't wait for it to be over, and to look back, laugh, and remember it.
Top 10 moments of 2009 (in no particular order):
- The day Lyle called me up at work to tell me his rank and scholarship as a reward
- baby Halle was born, but I got to really see her come alive in all her cuteness at Isabel's 2nd birthday visit to Texas
- New York Kids Club promotion to Team Leader
- We will NEVER forget the manual labors and rewards of purchasing, hauling, and attaching furniture to the walls of our apartment...never EVER.
- enjoying a FULL autumn in New York with the colors changing and no jackets!
- watching BYU beat Utah (& Oklahoma)
- Celebrating our 2 years of marriage - Lyle turned "our song" into an mp3
- Lyle's 10 year high school reunion (more so the after party with friends)
- being done with finals after 1st year of dental school - there's no feeling like it
- the day we went to met's game, but ended up at the U.S. open instead
in the new year, you just need to beware one thing, this camera happy girl taking way too many pictures. my apologies in advance.
