Tuesday I made it through the day and even felt halfway decent that evening. Luckily that was the case because the Clifts were in town! Aaron and Lyle have been friends since high school, so this was an extra treat for Lyle on his first day of summer freedom. For this special occasion we decided to turn it up a notch and celebrate big, we tried what is known as the MOST POPULAR restaurant in NYC: Gramercy Tavern. We splurged, though not as bad as we originally thought. There are two parts to the Gramercy Tavern: the restaurant and the tavern. We liked the options best on the tavern menu, so off we went. Even as congested as I was and with a swollen throat, I still enjoyed every little bite. In the city, or elsewhere, we’ve never had the best service, the best limeades, the best dishes. Union Square Cafe may be the only thing which comes at a close second. We’re so glad Aaron and Sarah (and even baby Alice) liked it!
We headed over to Madison Square Park and showed them the flatiron building and the view of the Empire State building at dusk.
It was so wonderful to catch up with old friends especially one on one in our own home.
We can’t wait to visit with them again and to have more visitors this summer!
When will YOU be joining us?
