I hope I never have to think about April and May of 2010 again. In fact, I’ve blocked out most of it already. The last eight weeks of Lyle’s semester of didactic classes and of my semester at work were brutal. They were full of blood, sweat, and tears. We can honestly say they were hands down the hardest moments of our three plus years together and beforehand. What’s even more brutal is that they won’t be the most brutal months of our lives. Yuck. Well, bring it, I guess.
One Saturday afternoon, we were able to escape the dreary days by hitting the International Food Festival in Hell’s Kitchen. Street fairs are common during the summer months in New York City. They change locations each weekend to get around the entire island. Streets close, crowds gather, but what’s at the street fairs is usually the same food, purse, t-shirt, and trinket booths. The international food festival is different. It includes restaurants in the area, and different foods from around the city.
You could buy a mug and have unlimited refills of any or all flavors.
It was a hit.
We loved it.
We can’t wait to find another food festival!
